Reminder

Greetings from the new MAPI President

Hello,

On November 2nd 2011, the MAPI board met and completed the assignment of officers for 2012. The assignments were based on the membership’s elections at the fall seminar on September 29th 2011.

I am pleased to announce that I (Kip Sandoz) have been elected as the MAPI president for 2012. In addition, we have added two new members to the board: Greg Cook and Brian Westphal.

The following appointments were made:

President: Kip Sandoz

Chairman: Dan Gilbertson

Treasurer: Jim Hessel

Secretary: Brian Westphal

Board Member: Mike Roberts

Board member: Greg Cook

I have been a board member for the past two years and have been part of the rebuilding process. Significant changes have been put into place, based on the membership’s comments and needs. For instance, photo ID cards for members, website enhancements and search options as well as adding different courses to the annual seminar, and offering armed training several times during the year, all suggestions made by the members.

2012 will bring even greater changes. MAPI will be involved in matters that are important to our membership, such as unlicensed activities. MAPI has already started a public awareness campaign on social networking sites. The campaign includes advertising the requirement for private investigators to be licensed in the state of Minnesota, as well as providing the MAPI website to report any unlicensed activities. Our new board member Greg Cook will be the contact for follow up on these claims.

We also advertise the MAPI website as a referral for reputable, licensed private investigators.

We also will be making the website easier for a prospective client to search for an investigator in their area.

The website will also be the place to go for up to date information, like the house vote on concealed carry reciprocity bill.

Please check the website often, as we will be working hard to provide timely information that is of interest to you-the members.

I encourage each of you to introduce MAPI to someone you know that is not currently a member.

Kip
